Also, we use your information to help improve the safety of our website, products and services, which includes detecting, preventing and responding to fraud and security risks that could harm you or DFS.


We may share your personal information with our affiliated companies, including Dell Technologies, Inc. and its group of companies (“Dell”), and Business Partners to perform work for us, complete transactions or fulfill contracts. DFS Account status including transaction information, payment and purchase history of your DFS Account;

DFS Account administrative information such as your DFS Account number, user name, password, order numbers, and account management preferences for security and account access purposes, as well as to fulfill services and products you have requested;

Web form information you provide in our web forms (forms that you choose to complete will indicate whether the information requested is mandatory or voluntary) whether you submit the form or only partially complete;

Demographic information such as your date of birth may be used to process your credit application, verify your identity, and to perform analytics to evaluate and improve our products and business;

We encourage you to keep any passwords you use confidential and to be careful to avoid “phishing” scams where someone may send you an email that appears to be from DFS asking for your personal information. DFS will not request your ID or password through email.


Use of Social Security Numbers

In addition to using a variety of security technologies and procedures to protect your personal information generally, to the extent your Social Security Number (“SSN”) is collected, we also take measures to maintain its confidentiality, to protect it from unlawful disclosure, and to limit access to it by unauthorized third parties. Specifically, we will not make your SSN available to the general public, print your SSN on any card required to access products or services, require you to transmit your SSN on the Internet unless the connection is secure or the SSN is encrypted, or require you to transmit your SSN to access a web site without requiring additional authentication.

DFS does not offer any financing to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.
