  • What is the Effective APR?
APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. Each month, your statement will reflect both the Corresponding APR and the Effective APR. The Corresponding APR is the annual interest we use to calculate your periodic finance charges. You may have a separate APR for different transactions (promotional offers, standard purchases, etc.).   The Effective APR is a reflection of the total dollar amount of finance charges plus certain fees you pay in a billing cycle expressed as an annual rate The Effective APR will typically match the Corresponding APR used to calculate your interest. The Effective APR will exceed your corresponding APR only when you pay certain fees on your account.
  • Why didn't I receive the lowest annual percentage rate available, highest credit line, or other program features?
CIT Bank, the lender, determines the rates and credit lines that apply to each account based on its underwriting guidelines and the applicant's creditworthiness. All qualified customers may still be offered financing in which there is no penalty if the amount financed is paid off early. Additionally, the total finance charges paid can be reduced by increasing the amount paid each month.
